Thursday is my official last day of college. LAST FREAKIN DAY OF COLLEGE HERE PEOPLE! I felt like this day would never come now im like....at a halting stop because its like "crap....its actually here." Dont get me wrong I am so so so so so excited to finally be able to go out into the "real" world but at the same time...college is comfortable-sorta. I have known it for the last 4 years...first two at chester last two (all the way through-winter spring summer and fall) all at the New England Institute of Art-which was one of the best choices I could have made (althought I ponder if I should have looked at RISD (RI school of design) ohwell. I did it. I hope Im as good as my family believes I am & that I can get a good job. I know its going to take me a few years to land THAT job, but im closer to it then I was.

I have my portfolio show this friday (you should totally come check it out, its open to the public) and lots of big companies are going to be there....im freaked out but also willing to give it all I got....I chose my position today for where my stand is going to be and I was going to choose in the back-to be safe but decided to step out of my comfort zone and go towards the front....now im the 3rd row in. So far amanda said Im the only one that has said to her that I dont need my table and is going to set an "atmosphere" somewhat rather then just a table with work. Im still working out kinks tho, such as my business cards & resume are yellow, yet im going to be wearing green-does that matter? Others seem to think so...im wondering if it can be looked over because I already printed my business cards and I already bought the outfit that looks CUTE! so...whatev i guess. I gotta print out a few more things...but other then that. BLAHHHH so craaazzzyyy. I cant even wrap my mind around it right now, I really cant. I gotta put together my take aways that people grab from my table *yeah freeeee stuff,,,,perfect for all you people that like free stuff, like me haha* im just like...wow. This is really the end of one chapter and im going onto another. Im going to be getting married in a year, graduating this year...its just WOW.

so yeah..come check it out if your not busy, otherwise if you would like to come but cant but would like to see some of my work, my website will be working by Friday so check that out or message me and ill send you my business card/resume/anything you want :) thanks guysss! I got an internship! I was very very very lucky. There are still many in my class that have not gotten one and are freaking out, as I would be doing if I were in their positions. But I had luck on my side (for once!) and I got the very first one I attempted at. I sent an email along with my resume over to the American Cancer Society on Friday 01/09 with just a quick, Hi I heard about your internship possability, I am very interested in seeing if I would be able to be an intern there, I really want to be able to help out and make a difference please check out my resume, I look forward to hearing from you...it was barely a cover letter, because it was so quick. But that was at 11am on that Friday, the same day at 2:30 I got an email back saying that they would love to set up an interview and please call them, at 2:40 that same day I called them, she was so happy I responded so quickly and set up an interview for Wednesday 01/14 and wanted me to bring some of my work to show them....So Wednesday comes along and I bring two mounted pieces- my menu (i dont have posted on here) and my Ghirardelli box (i still need to put on here) and then I had various pieces on my computer, which i brought with me... I looked nice...but was nervous beyond belief...setting myself up for failure cuz i figured there is no way I would get the internship the very first time i tried...had the interview, which i couldnt tell if it was going well because she wasnt showing any emotion and at first it looked like she was looking at my mounted stuff like "you brought THESE?" but then i was going to turn on my computer to show her my stuff on my computer and as this was happening she was going into the company design's style and how they have a set look to their designs and that there isnt too much room for crazy design and at first she was saying all this like "IF you were to intern here...you would do this and this and this..." but then it gradually turned into "you WILL be doing this WHEN you intern here..." and finally she was like "so, would you like to intern here?" and I was like "i would LOVE to!!" and she was going on about starting that friday 01/16 and the hours i would be able to and then she was ending the interview and we had only looked at my two mounted pieces so I was about to put on my jacket and she was like "OH! you wanna show me your work on your computer?" so I did and that was that....

I started that friday and have been interning between 10-15 hours a week. I need to have 120 by graduation.

Its going great. I like the people there, very nice and helpful...

I am dancing in my chair right now!

Finally...I have a webpage!!! Bout damn time I know. But I really felt like I was webpage-illiterate and that I would never have one...but thanks to school & webpage class I got one. (and also the lovely $$$ that had to go into the domain & hosting...ugh..) but you gotta spend money to get money I hear??

So its not perfect...has ALOT of work to be done on it...but its thereeeeeeeeee!!!

www.GinaMM.com

heck yes.

And the response i have been getting is overwhelming. From friends & family & people i barely know. All telling me how talented I am and wishing me all the luck in my career. I cant thank them enough for the kind words and wishes.

I have so many ideas for work to do on my time off from school (a whopping 2 weeks...whipdi-do) it starts the 19th of aug till the begining of september...and i have been working with T-shirt designs...with spray paint and my friend malia found a tutorial online on how to bleach dark fabrics to make nice designs so...plus I have been doing alot of preperation for montage/collage-ish type of art that i hope will done soon. not to mention wanting to do more sculpture and without a doubt design work (next semester i have again all design classes so...) then after this fall semester hopefully one semester and BOOM graduation.

still need a internship. I found a website that does design work-you can work from home wich would be ideal since i travel everyday to boston and my poor car...its a great car its A HONDA...but its also 8 years old and driven so much each day...not to mention I am moving with andrew back to his parents house so we can save money for our wedding & hopefully a house of our own...SO...working from home would be fantastical.

I have all these things I want to do...if only there was time!!!

So check out the webpage and give me as much feedback as possible...CRITIQUE people. I need it.

I already know the buttons/type for the artwork page and many of the pages needs to be more unified and same size and what not...

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
